Wrinkles are a fact of life, and it’s inevitable that you’re going to develop some as you age. However, there are anti-aging creams available that will refresh your skin. Regular use of a wrinkle cream and a healthy lifestyle can substantially decrease the number of wrinkles you develop.

While you can’t expect any wrinkle cream to make you look like you’re in your 20s again, there are creams available that can prevent new wrinkles and even reduce the ones you already which can shave years off of your face.

Some wrinkle creams act mostly to preserve or add moisture to the tissues. A healthy water intake is essential to your whole body and naturally to the skin, but some moisturizers can actually add some moisture and all help hold in the moisture that is there. Skin that is rich in water will show existing wrinkles less than parched skin will.

Protein is another essential component of younger, healthier-looking skin that is lost in the aging process. It provides a kind of support system for tissues. Without it, sags and wrinkles occur. There are collagen preparations available in the form of wrinkle creams which contain naturally-occurring proteins, like aloe vera, that are absorbed and used by the skin to make up for protein loss.

You can help the creams do their job by living a healthy lifestyle. Your diet is very important to skin health, and you need to eat plenty of antioxidants, lycopenes, and vitamins. As mentioned before, drink plenty of water, get at least 8 hours of sleep each night, and exercise regularly.

Be sure to use a wrinkle cream that contains plenty of antioxidants. Antioxidants work both internally and on the skin to heal damaged skin. They also help prevent further damage from exposure to the elements as well as reducing inflammation. Keeping an antioxidant cream on your face is preferable to using creams without any.

Never kid yourself. Exposure to the sun causes wrinkles. The UV-A and UV-B rays damage skin and can even cause skin mutations which produce skin cancers as well as wrinkles. Make sure your wrinkle cream contains at least an SPF 15 sunscreen. Regular use will help reduce the wrinkles that age your skin as well as cancers that can cause severe skin damage and death.

You may find other remedies that are as effective as the very expensive designer creams. Try a little petroleum jelly after washing your face. It will block the moisture from leaving your skin. And if you want a temporary fix for crow’s feet, try rubbing a little hemorrhoid cream around your eyes.
